Mbae Leon is the inspiration for Kiunga. He describes himself as the link between the facility and the community. By mobilizing people to come to the facility for testing and counseling, he brings those living with HIV to the entry point for care and treatment. From there, they can be connected to a support group where they will be linked to relationship and belonging, education and resources, hope and healing.

Our Mission

To prevent the spread of HIV and improve the physical and emotional health of people living with HIV/AIDS through education, access to resources and meaningful connections with others

I call the support groups the real hospital where people are healed because this is where people get healed emotionally and even mentally.
— Mbae Leon, Project Officer
